Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011)

Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in an action-packed adventure. Crossing paths with the enigmatic Angelica, he's not sure if it's love—or if she's a ruthless con artist who's using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard, Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know whom to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.



First in the series to be directed by Rob Marshall and not Gore Verbinski. The film is set to be released on May 20, 2011 in Disney Digital 3-D and IMAX 3D, as well as in traditional two-dimensional and IMAX formats. It is also the first film in the series which features fictional versions of historical characters such as Blackbeard, George II of Great Britain, Henry Pelham, John Carteret and Ferdinand VI of Spain.

It will be the first Pirates of the Caribbean film to be released in 3D and Jerry Bruckheimer's second 3D film, following the 2009 film G-Force.
