From the studio that gave us the animated hit-Happy Feet! comes...Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

Soren, a young barn owl, is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie's, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga'Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie's. The film is based on the first three books in the series.

Warner Bros. acquired film rights to the book series Guardians of Ga'Hoole by Kathryn Lasky in June 2005. The studio planned to produce the series as a computer-generated animated film under producer Donald De Line and Lionel Wigram. A screenplay was written by John Orloff, and in April 2008, the project moved to Village Roadshow with Zack Snyder directing and Zareh Nalbandian producing. Production began in Australia in February 2009. The film is being produced by the digital visual effects company Animal Logic, following its success with the 2006 film Happy Feet.

The voice cast includes Sam Neill, Hugo Weaving, Emilie de Ravin, Ryan Kwanten, Jim Sturgess, Geoffrey Rush, Rachel Taylor, Helen Mirren, Abbie Cornish, Jay Laga'aia, David Wenham, Emily Barclay, Miriam Margolyes, David Field, and Richard Roxburgh.

Production took place in Australia at Animal Logic, and the film is scheduled to be released on September 24, 2010. It will be released in part in RealD 3D and IMAX 3D.
